The RS Zero Jacket utilizes the Firewall softshell fabric with a cycling specific design to provide unsurpassed protection from inclimate weather. Seams are protected from exposure during forward movement and MidZero panels are strategically placed to provide breathability. A longer tail with SUGOI hem grip provides protection while preventing the jacket from drawing up on the torso. The RS Zero Jacket should be your go-to for training and cycling in less-than-ideal conditions. Combining function with fashion, this cycling jacket sports Sugoi's MidZero and Firewall 220 fabrics for breathability, moisture wicking, and resistance to water and wind. Its sleek, fitted design includes an engineered collar, a signature hem grip, and a full-length separating front zipper with a zipper guard. 3M Scotchlite reflective accents increase visibility when you're out in the dark. A center back zippered pocket and two adjacent slant pockets provide versatility.Fabric Properties:Breathable: Reduces overheating by allowing perspiration to escape. Dries quickly. In helping regulate the climate against your skin, the Insulation layer ensures the best possible thermal balance of the body.About S3+ Protection + Layer Fabrics Made of Firewall--an innovative fabric group in Sugoi's range of elite soft shells--this combination of layers provides superior protection in the harshest of winter conditions.About 3M Scotchlite Material Whether you're working or playing, 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material helps you to be seen at dawn, dusk, or night, in all weather conditions. It uses a technology known as retroreflection, which helps the eye perceive light in low-light conditions. In more scientific terms, retroreflection occurs when light rays are returned in the direction from which they came. A large amount of reflected light is returned directly to the original light source, such as a cars headlights. Since very little light is scattered when the light is returned, retroreflective materials appear brightest to an observer located near the original light source.Retroreflection Scattered ReflectionAbout the Sugoi Comfort System As every athletes body requires different layering for ultimate comfort, protection, and performance, Sugoi has taken a back-to-basics approach with the Sugoi Comfort System. This system works from your skin to the outer surface of your apparel, and provides an optimal climate for your body, balanced temperature regulation, maximum comfort, and performance that can be personalized for each individual.Manufacturer's Warranty Sugoi products will be covered for one year from the proof-of-purchase date for manufacturing defects. Please be aware that the following claims are not subject to warranty: Damage caused by general wear against abrasive surfaces, such as Velcro, bag strapping, rough seams, or a rip on the saddle Rips, burns, tears, and damages due to accidents, improper care, misuse, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over time About Sugoi For years, hardcore athletes have known that Sugoi makes some of the most hard-working apparel in endurance sports. For over 20 years, the company has been working diligently to make sure it lives up to its name. Sugoi's journey began when David Hollands, a bicycle racer, and Carol Prantner, a fashion student, founded the company in 1987. The upstart originated as a basement operation in the outdoor playground of Vancouver, British Columbia. The initial product consisted merely of bike shorts, made to address the short supply of genuine technical cycling apparel, which all came from Japan or Europe at the time. These humble shorts contained the genesis of the original Sugoi ethic of innovation and excellence, and soon enough other competitors wanted the shorts too. Sugoi quickly earned an almost cult following among athletes seeking the best-performing, best-looking apparel available. Twenty years hasn't changed Sugoi's relentless focus on making workouts a great experience, but the company has certainly changed. Today, it has more than 250 employees. Its expansive catalogs now offer hundreds of technical garments and accessories, including underlayers, jackets, shorts, swimsuits, socks, and hats. With distribution throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, Sugoi is truly an international brand. Ironman winners, world champions, and Olympians--they've all worn Sugoi, and they continually provide the company with flattering feedback on its range of apparel. The people at Sugoi admit that they revel in such praise from the ranks of the elite, but they've always known their success derives from recognizing and serving the needs of their core customer: the committed, everyday athlete.
This jacket is supple, soft, and comfortable. It fits more like a lined jersey than a jacket, and yet its thermal properties are superlative. It retains heat while deflecting wind and venting perspiration. Other jackets that do not have adequate venting become clammy inside. The Sugoi RS Zero keeps you incredibly warm while simultaneously wicking away moisture. I wore this jacket on a cold ride in Oberlin Ohio last weekend, with a merino wool sweater underneath. It was 34 degrees when we started, and I may have been too warm with the Sugoi. Naturally, some people feel the wind and cold more than others, and one cannot ensure that every cyclist will be immune to freezing temperatures with this jacket. I suspect the jacket will be warm enough for most even when the temperature drops down to the 40s and 30s (perhaps lower?), so long as they wear the kind of base layer that properly insulates and allows for evaporation. (Cotton, for example, will remain wet and become cold....) This is the most amazing jacket that I have tried, though my experience is subjective of course. I do, however, believe it is pretty sugoi (Japanese, for stupendous)....This jacket is superb quality, it's relatively thin, wonderfully warm and a pleasure to wear. I've been using it for early morning rides in winter (at temperatures generally ranging between -3 and +3 degrees celcius - I am confident that this range could be widened in both directions by some margin) with only a Pearl Izumi transfer baselayer underneath and have been kept comfortably warm, but not hot. No wind chill & comfortable around the neck. The sizing is excellent - I'm an off-the-rack sort of guy in terms of size/length etc and the medium is just right. The jacket is a good length - a few inches longer than your typical cycling jersey - I wish cycling jerseys were this length and it doesn't ride up. The rear pockets are very easy to access, particularly the angled side pockets. I bought this because I really rated the Sugoi RS bib shorts I have and this is just as good. From now on I'll look for Sugoi clothing wherever I can - great quality that is a pleasure to wear.IT has very good workmanship and quality material. I like everything about the jacket except the zipper. The medal zipper is not very smooth as my Pearl Izumi jacket. It served me in well in cold morning by providing good insulation and warmth.I have a yellow one, I ride in 30-40 degree weather, it works very very well, do not get too sweaty in the back, the construction is good and strong, great fit, very comfortable.
